Objective:Alzheimer' s disease is the most common couse of dementia, but the pathological mechanism keeps unknown. It was reported that lipids metabolism play a key role in Alzheimer' s disease.Such as inflammatory and vascular factors which are related with Alzheimer' s disease onset. In this study,we detected the levels of lipids, fibrinogen, homocysteine in AD and controls. In order to investigate its changes in Alzheimer' s disease and it may provide some evidences to early diagnosis in Alzheimer' s dementia. Methods:The 35 patients with probably diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease were detected according to DSM-â…£.Controls are the health elder people strictly according to 1:1 pair matching, such as sex, age, educationnal level, living area were similar between patients group and controls. The plasm lipids were measured by using enzyme immunoassay, plasm fibrinogen by using Clauss, serum homocysteine by using Fluorescence Polarization ImmunoassayTechnology, repectively. Results:There were significant difference between Alzheimer' s disease group and the matched controls in plasm total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein B,plasm fibrinogen, serum homocysteine. Also it was not significant difference in plasm triglyceride, high density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein A1.There were not significant difference in plasm total cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein A1,apolipoprotein B,plasm fibrinogen, serum homocysteine in Alzheimer' s disease subgroup, and that plasm total cholesterol, fibrinogen, serum homocysteine probably are risk factors for AD although we have eliminated the mixed factors passing logistic analytical results. No correlation was observed between MMSE scores and in total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein B,fibrinogen, homocysteine, respectively. Conclusion:The levels of total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein B,fibrinogen, homocysteine in group AD are significantly higher than the matched control group; Plasm total cholesterol, fibrinogen, serum homocysteine are risk factors for AD.There is no correlation found between MMSE sores and in total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein B,fibrinogen, homocysteine with group AD.Inflammatory and vascular factors could contribute to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease.
