Objective:To explore the correlation between P300 and cognition, then to analyze the clinical meaning.Methods:30 cerebral trauma cases diagnosed with CT(experimental group),20 normal persons without cerebral trauma case history and psychiatric disease history(control group). All of them were examined with event related potential and neurobehavioral cognitive status examination(NCSE). After two months'regular treatment, we examined them again with the same method to observe their changes about latency,AMP of P300 and the score of NCSE. Then to analyze the correlation between the two. Results:It was found that the latency of N200,P300 in experimental group were prolonged significantly ,AMP were lower compared with those in control group, while the NCSE score were significantly lower than ones of the control group. After two months regular treatment, the NCSE score was raised and the latency of N200,P300 was shorter than before(p<0.01).It was also found that there was negative correlation between the latency of p300 and the score of the NCSE (r=-0.679 p<0.01).And we also found than the capacity of orientation and judgment affected P300 more by stepwise regression multivariate analysis between the P300 and every items of NCSE.Conclusion:P300 can be conduct as the modus operandi of evaluate the cognition of cerebral trauma, and have more correlation with the capacity of orientation of time and space and judgment.
