The biological activities of Spirulina and its immunological characteristics were studied in this paper. First of all, four Spirulina species which commonly used in the production were selected, and the important physiological indicators in the process of incubation were compared; Secondly, the active ingredients of Spirulina which is the major products in the current market were analyzed and compared, and the relative researches had carried out. Finally, through the animal experiments, the effect of immunomodulatory with different quality of spirulina was . The results of the research are as follows:The important physiological indicators were compared on different Spirulina species: the growth cycle of four species Spirulina is generally 13~15d, the changes in its pH value is normally between 9.6~10.4, the dry weight and optical density of Spirulina was a good linear relationship, the important pigment of spirulinaβ-carotene and chlorophyll its content increase most significant in 9~15d. There are difference in growth condition and accumulation of nutrients because of the different species in the same process of nutrient.The study on biological activity substances of different samples of Spirulina: the methods of determination and analysis biological activity ingredients were Built from Spirulina. The major ingredients were Analysised in this experiment : pigment-protein, algal polysaccharides, unsaturated fatty acids,β-carotene, chlorophyll and SOD, the above substances are relatively rich in Spirulina, but different samples of its content have much difference, and there are significant differences between the different samples of Spirulina in main biological active ingredients: phycocyanin, algal polysaccharides, unsaturated fatty acids,β-carotene and superoxide dismutase(p<0.05).Correlation analysis of main biological activity ingredients from the different sample of Spirulina: the result showed that there is positive correlation among the content of total protein, phycocyanin, polyunsaturated fatty acids,β-carotene and SOD; There is positive correlation between the content of total protein, phycocyanin, polyunsaturated fatty acids,β-carotene,SOD and polysaccharide. The significant correlation existents between the individual components(r<0.05).The the immune characteristics of different quality of Spirulina were compard: different quality of Spirulina can play a role in immune regulation, and further proves that Spirulina is an ideal Immunomodulator; The experiment also showed that different quality of Spirulina on the immune function is different. feeding a good quality of Spirulina, the immune effect is superior to the other group which was fed the poor quality of Spirulina, and the effects with the does of feeding must have the relationship. The best immune regulation effects was the group in the dose of 500mg/(kg·d) which was fed the good quality of Spirulina.
