Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor And Early Diabetic Nephropathy

BackgroundDiabetic nephropathy(DN) is one of the important diabetic microvascular complications and the important death reason.At present,a great quantity experiments show that inflammation is necessary for the process of DN.Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) is a highly selective role in the endothelial cells of cytokines.VEGF biology major features include: increased vascular permeability and promote angiogenesis,increase adhesion molecule and extracellular matrix production,and thus participate in inflammation in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy role.VEGF,through a series of complicated mechanism involved in the progress of DN and,to some extent reflected on the severity of the disease.ObjectiveTo evaluate the relationship between the level of VEGF in serum of patients with DN and to find out a new method for early diagnosis and intervention of DN.Methods66 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes in accordance with the urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER) is divided into normal albuminuria group,micro-albuminuria group,albuminuria substantial group,in the same period 24 cases of out-patient and normal healthy control group. All patients and healthy controls were measured for VEGF,and to do statistical analysis.Results1.VEGF levels in diabetic groups are significantly higher than the levels in the normal control group,VEGF levels in micro-albuminuria group are higher than the levels in the normal albuminuria group,VEGF levels in albuminuria substantial group are higher than the levels in the micro-albuminuria group,the differences are significant.2.At the early stage of the course ofDN,VEGF level is positively correlated with UAER.ConclusionsVEGF level of diabetic patients is higher than that of healthy people,and the level of diabetic nephropathy is higher than the level of diabetic patients.The VEGF level will increase at the early stage of the course of DN.VEGF level is hoped to be a new method to earlily diagnosis,treatment and monitor.
