Hypertension With Diabetes Mellitus Survey Of TCM Syndrome

ObjectiveThis study obtained the evidence-based medicine and epidemiological methods, through the observation of the in-patients and out-patients of the Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital from January Of 2008 to January Of 2009 to explore the relationship between the common traditional chinese medicine syndtomes and related factors of the hypertension combined with diabetes mellitus and rich the modern chinese medicine theory,so that can provide theoretical basises to the treatment of hypertension with diabetes mellitus with combination of tradional medicine and western medicine.MethodsThis study obtained forward-looking survey methodology and self-made questionnaire,choosed the hypertensive patients with diabetes mellitus who meet the inclusion criteria,and collected basic information,relevant risk factors,blood pressure,blood glucose,combined diseases,biochemical parameters,the information of the four diagnostic methods,traditional Chinese medicine syndromes types.This study used SPSS13.0 Statistical Package for the establishment of a database,used descriptive statistics to analyze the traditional chinese medicine syndromes types and the frequency of the indicators of the four diagnostic methods,used gradually Logistic regression to analysis the relationship between the TCM syndromes types of common inpatients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus and risk factors,combined diseases,blood pressure,blood glucose.Results300 cases were observed in this research,40 cases of outpatients accounted for 13.3%,a total of 260 cases of patients accounted for 86.7%,which included in most cases to patients.A total of 132 cases of male patients accounted for 44%,168 cases of female patients 56%.All patients included in the minimum age was 41 years old,maximum age is 80 years old,it was divided into three groups according to age:＜60-year-old(middle-aged group),60-69-year-old (middle-old-aged group),70-80 years old(elderly group),in which＜60 years of age accounted for 19.3%,of 60-69-year-old accounted for 31.0%, 70-80-year-old accounted for 49.7%.The main were middle-aged and elderly patients,and women were more than men.The main TCM syndromes type of 300 cases of hypertensive patients with diabetes mellitus were Qi-deficiency and blood stasis type(31.7%),phlegm and blood stasis of Qi-Yin deficiency type resistance network(15.0%),phlegm and blood stasis type resistance network (11.3%),liver and kidney deficiency type(10.0%).Deficiency Syndromes in Traditional Chinese Medicine accounted for 9.0%,excess(12.7%),deficiency and excess interlace(78.3%),mainly in deficiency and excess interlace.The development of the hypertension combined with diabetes was a gradual process of evolution,early and more evidence based mainly on empirical Phlegm obstructing the main network,a lot of inner heat,and further development of a mixture of deficiency and excess,such as Qi-deficiency,Qi-Yin Deficiency, liver kidney-yin deficiency,at the same time there was a mixture of phlegm and blood stasis,phlegm-heat,blood stasis.With the Logistic regression analysis and rank test analysis,to discuss the relation between the TCM syndrome types and the risk factors,combined diseases,blood pressure,blood glucose.The retsult was that sub-age,whether or not the merger coronary heart disease,whether or not chronic heart failure,whether the merger of diabetic peripheral neuropathy symptoms of the existence were impact of the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome types.ConclusionThe main types of TCM of Hypertension with diabetes mellitus were Qi-deficiency and blood stasis type,phlegm and blood stasis of Qi-Yin deficiency type resistance network,phlegm and blood stasis type resistance network,liver and kidney deficiency type.There were some relation between the TCM syndrome types and the risk factors.
