This dissertation is divided into four portions, the first portion is literature categorization, extraction, summarization and generalization for TCM theory of Heart-Lung correlation which is mentioned in Yin and Yang theory, Qi monism theory,Five Elements theory and ancient official title culture. The purpose is to generate theoretical foundation of Heart-Lung correlation. The second portion is the reasearch for correlation of Heart and Lung by studying physicians' clnical practice. The purpose is to demonstrate that theory of Heart-Lung correlation originating in clinical practice and generate practical foundation of Heart-Lung correlation. After the generation of theoretical and practical foundation,The third portion is elaborating the connotation of Heart-Lung correlation, summarize Heart and Lung's definition, function and their relationship with other organs and meridians in TCM theory.Lung's function is governing Qi of the whole body, maintaining and assisting the functions of Heart.Because all vessels converg in Lung,Lung can assist Heart to keep the blood circulation; because Lung concerns momentary and ephemeral,It can keep the rhythm of Heart. In physiologic function,Lung and Heart promotion each other, the governing of Zong-qi,production,trasformation and transportation of blood and body fluid must be achieved by the combination of Heart and Lung.Lung stores the animal soul(Po) and Heart stores the spirit(Shen),so in psychoactivity,Lung and Heart also influence each other. In pathology, the disease of Lung can be transmitted to Heart, vice versa. The correlation of Lung and Heart represents in six sector:①Lung and Heart adjoin in anatomical position;②Qi and Blood are the units of the information transmition between Lung and Heart;③Meridians are the pathway of this transmition;④the relationship between body and spirit are the top conception in correlation of Lung and Heart;⑤the key pathogenesis of Heart-Lung correlational disease is phlegm(Tan) and stasis(Yu) due to Qi deficiency, phlegm(Tan) and stasis(Yu) is the media of the correlation of Lung and Heart;⑥the open of human body is achieved through the coupling of Lung and heart. The last portion is the research for the clinical application of Heart-Lung correlation theory. In clinical practice, the experiences "treating Lung for Heart disease","treating Heart for Lung disease","treating both Heart and Lung",which originate from the theory of Heart-Lung correlation, can be applied to differentiation and treatment of pneumocardial disease, coronary artery disease and depressive disorder.①Treatment of pneumocardial disease:invigorating Qi initial stage;regulating and invigorating Qi of Heart and Lung in all stages;eliminating phlegm(Tan) and refresing Lung, nourishing Qi and activating blood;regulating Qi and Blood with the regulation of spirit(regulating both body and spirit).②Treatment of coronary artery disease:invigorating Lung and consolidating superficies to prevent coronary artery disease;Treating both Heart and Lung to treat coronary artery disease.③Treatment of depressive disorder:single treatment of Heart and Lung, combined treatment of both Lung and Heart. In the end, this dissertation offers the application prospect of the Heart-Lung correlation theory, which can be the instuction of the treatment for the "no symptom-complex to defferentiate" case and following the prognosis of a disease and the treament of the common diseases such as viral myocarditis,cacorhinia.Heart-Lung correlation theory which is wildly applied in clinic, offers new ways in treatment and prevention of the cardiac system and pulmonary system disease and improves the integrality and abundance of the theory of five viscera correlation.
