Influence Of Acupuncture Combine With Acupoint Catgut Embedding Of Obesity With Retarded Menstruation

Background of theoryIt is estimated that there are nearly 300 million patients with obesity in the world.In our country,the incidence of obesity is also increasing rapidly.Epidemiological data show that,from 14-year-old to 64-year-old population,the number of overweight has nearly 100 million in 1998.As the growing trend,the incidence of obesity will nearly 25%in 2002.Obesity has become an important health issue.According to the report,50%of the obese women have the symptoms of menstrual disorders,the result of endocrine dysfunction caused by obesity can not be ignored.At present,there are varities of treatment for the obesity with Retarded menstruation,such as Western medicine,surgery,acupuncture,Chinese traditional medicine,massage and ear pressure treatment.According to the report of literature over the past decade,Chinese medicine,especially acupuncture,show that a clear effect of the treatment for the disease,without side effects.Western medicine targets clear,but with side-effects;response after surgery.Therefore,acupuncture and acupoint embedding have a great advantage in the treatment of obesity and its complications.At present,the literature of obesity are so much,for its complications, there are varities of treatment.But it isn't a kind of effective treatment for the obesity with Retarded menstruation.This issue uses modern scientific research methods,clinical epidemiology and data technology,combined with modern scientific research methods to study traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture points combined with embedding to the treatment of obesity with Retarded menstruation,building a multi-dimensional indicators of clinical efficacy evaluation system,to find a set of standardized program of effective treatment of obesity with Retarded menstruation without side effects.ObjectiveAnalyse the clinical treatment of acupuncture combine with acupoint catgut embedding on obesity with Retarded menstruation.MethodsBy using preceding random comparision experiment and adopting 60 cases of adiposity patients who come from Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital out-patient clinics of acupuncture as research object,we divided them into experiment group(acupuncture points combined with catgut embedding group) and the comparision group(acupuncture group),30 cases for each group.We observed in patients before and after treatment with body weight,body mass index,body circumference,sex hormone,then using the statistics method to analyse,for reaching the conclusion of the effectiveness of on an analysis of the application of statistical methods to explore the effect of acupuncture combined with acupoint catgut embedding on obesity with Retarded menstruation.Results1) By acquiring acupuncture treatment for obesity by acupuncture combine with acupoint catgut embedding,the consequence after the 1^st course of treatment:13cases(43.3%) were remarkable improved,11cases(36.7%) were improved,and 6 cases(20.0%) were ineffective.The totle effective rate was 80.0%.After the 2^nd course of the treatment,16 cases(53.3%) were remarkable improved,20cases(66.7%) were improved,and 3 cases(10.0%) were ineffective. The totle effective rate was 90.0%.After the 3^rd course of treatment,20 cases (66.7%) were remarkable improved,8cases(26.6%) were improved,and 2cases (6.7%) were ineffective.The totle effective rate was 93.3%.The totle effective rate was significantly different than the control group.2) By acquiring acupuncture treatment for obesity with Retarded menstruation by acupuncture combine with acupoint catgut embedding,after the 1^st,2^th,3^th course of treatment,the weight was significantly reduced.After the 2^th,3^th course of treatment,the BMI,the circumferences of lumar were significantly reduced.After the 3^th course of treatment,the circumferences of hip war significantly reduced.After the 3^th course of treatment,compared with the control group,the BMI showed significant differences.3) By acquiring acupuncture treatment for Retarded menstruation by acupuncture combine with acupoint catgut embedding,5 cases(16.7%) were remarkable improved,The totle effective rate was 66.7%.The control group, 3 cases(10.0%) were remarkable improved,The totle effective rate was 53.3%.The totle effective rate was significantly different than the treatment group.4) By acquiring acupuncture treatment for obesity with Retarded menstruation by acupuncture combine with acupoint catgut embedding,LH,T, E2,LH/FSH,significantly reduced,the basis of body temperature was significantly different than the control group.ConclusionsAcupuncture combined with catgut embedding points can adjust the overall function of the body to loss weight and regulate endocrine hormone levels.
