objectiveTo study the effects of an Levodopa and CDP-choline on the monocular form-deprived cats with the technique of PVEP.The morphologic change of the visual cortex were investigated by the transmission electron microscope.Effects of the Levodopa and CDP-choline were evaluated and the possible mechanism were discussed.MethodsThe cats were divided into five groups:a monocular form-deprived group, Levodopa group,CDP-choline group,a control group and a normal group.Each group had four cats.The left eyes were sutuerd in the form-deprived group of seven days.Afterwards,the sutured eyes in the control group were opened.In the same period,the cats in the Levodopa group and CDP-choline group received the Levodopa 20mg,three times every day,and CDP-choline group received the CDP-choline 200mg every day.The PVEP and the characteristics of the right 17 area of the visual cortex were studied under the transmission electron microscope.Results(1) The electrophysiology of the monocular form-deprived cats.The amplitudes of the waves were decreased and there were no significant P100 latency delayed in the monocular form-deprived group.N75 recovered to normal level in CDP-choline group and control group,but P100 and N75-135 never recovered to normal level in these group. Compared with the normal group,the Levodopa group had regular waves,and there was no significant difference in N75,P100 and N75-135 of the left eye in the Levodopa group.(2) The morphology of the monocular form-deprived cats.In the monocular form-deprived group the neurons shows dysfunctionly.The neuorns were recovered in the control group,monocular form-deprived group,CDP-choline group,Levodopa group,especially in the latter.Moreover,the protuberance of th eneuorns weer showed more in the CDP-choline group,Levodopa group.Conclusions(1) the Levodopa and CDP-choline can make the P100 latency and N75-135 recovered to normal level in the monocular form-deprived cats.(2) Levodopa and CDP-choline has the eeffets of recovering the injured neuorns and stimulating the protuberance of the neurons forming.It also could speed up the replication,transcription process,the promotion of protein synthesis and strengthen the relationship of the synapase.(3) Levodopa and CDP-choline has the therapic effects on the monocular form-deprived cats.
