Systematic Review Of Traditional Chinese Medicine For The Treatment Of Uterus Myoma

[Objective]To evaluate the present conditions and residual problems in the scientific research design and therapeutic effects evaluation,evaluate the level of research qualities in treating uterus myoma with tcm;and to systematically evaluate the effectiveness and safety of chinese medicine subjectively.[Methods]to set up an evaluation table of the clinical research articles about treating uterus myoma with tcm after collecting Randomized Controlled Trial(RCT)and half-rct articles from both domestic and abroad data base from 1989 to 2006,and to do meta analysis with software of Review Manager(RevMan4.2)on the basis of statistic analysis in four aspects,that are general condition of the articles,criteria of diagnosis,inclusion and exclusion,criteria of effectjudgement and research design.[Results]Among 293 articles,only 69 refer to randomized controlled trial.But the quality of RCT was not so good,there is only 2 trials applied the correct randomization,the other 8 applied the half-randomization.2 Blind-method is applied.In the composition of all groups,48 articles(69.6%)have the clear words about comparance.56 articles(81.2%)have clear diagnosis criteria.22 articles(31.9%)have acute inclusion criteria.Only 12 articles (17.4%)have clear exclusion criteria.39 pieces(56.5%)are clear in the criteria effect judgement.41 pieces(59.4%)mention the right statistical method.25 pieces(36.2%)report adverse effect and 23 pieces(33.3%)have follow-up visit.31 articles are preceded in systematic review.13 pieces(41.9%) are compared between tcm and west medicine;14 pieces(45.2%)with west medicine are contrast to combination of tcm and west medicine;1(3.2%)is contrast to placebo;1(3.2%)is contrast to blank group,and 2(6.5%) are compared to operation.In conclusion,tcm has better effect than west medicine in the diminution of uterus volme,improving anemia,and the adeverse effects is less than west medicine in amenorrhea.The combination of tcm and west medicine has a supplementary effect in the diminution uterus myoma volme.[Conclusion]The systematicreview show that some chinese medicine has certain effects in treating uterus myoma.There is no sufficient evidence to intisify the therapeutic effect due to the lower quality of the trials.More strict,multicentric and randomized double blind controled trails should be designed in the following research to add the demonstration intensity.
