A Clinical Observation On Treating Periarthritis Of Shoulder By Needling The Beginning And Ending Spots Of Shoulder And Neck Muscles

[Objective] To observe the clinical effects of treating Periarthritis of Shoulder by needling the beginning and ending spots of shoulder and neck muscles.[Method] Thirty-two cases of Periarthritis of Shoulder received the treatment by needling the beginning and ending spots of shoulder and neck muscles. Treatment was administered once a day for 10 days. Observations including clinic effect, The American Michael Reese Medical Center Evaluation Standards was used as a tool for pain and function measurement before and after treatment and patients felt unwell during treatment which were recorded, and so on.[Results] Among 32 cases, 15 cases got clinical recovery, 11 got remarkable effective, 4 got effective and 2 got no effectiveness. The total efficacy rate is 93.75%. The scores of the American Michael in Reese medical center grading standard meter evaluation showed an obvious difference between before and after treatment (P<0.01). There are not any special uncomfortable recording during the observation period..[Conclusion] The method that treating Periarthritis of Shoulder by acupuncturing the beginning and ending spots of shoulder and neck muscles can correct the clinical symptoms, reconstruct the shoulder joint function and promote the clinical recovery.
