Study On The Status Analysis And Burden Of Cancer In Pudong New Area

BackgroundCancer is a leading cause of death worldwide.From a total of 58 million deaths worldwide in 2005,cancer accounts for 7.6 million(or 13%) of all deaths.Deaths from cancer in the world are projected to continue rising,with an estimated 9 million people dying from cancer in 2015 and 11.4 million dying in 2030.Our country is being in the transition period for High incidence cancers of developing country turn to the cancer of developed.Our country has also carried out the exploring research to DALY.The life loss and disease burden of cancer in Shanghai is increasing unceasingly.ObjectiveTo make a comprehensive estimation of the burden of cancer in Pudong New Area by the means of disability—adjusted life year(DALY)for the first time.The study is aimed to investigate the prevalence,incidence and mortality,and constituent ratio of cancer in tumor death cause in community group of Pudong New Area;To elucidate the epidemic characteristics of cancer in Pudong New Area,to calculate the total and per capital years of life lost due to cancer;to estimate the total and per capital economic burden of cancer in Pudong New Area.MethodsBased on the data of cancer registry and death cause surveillance from 2002 to 2007 in Pudong New Area,the burden of cancer was measured with incidence,mortality,PYLL and DALY.Results1.It is indicated that Pudong New Area entered a senescence society for the persons over 65 years of account for 14%.2,The four leading cancers in male were lung cancer,stomach cancer,liver cancer,and Colon and rectum cancer while those in female were breast cancer,Colon and rectum cancer,lung cancer,stomach cancer.And the order of this cancer is like to shanghai.3.The mortality of esophagus cancer,stomach cancer,liver cancer in male and stomach cancer,liver cancer in female is decreased.The mortality of Colon and rectum cancer,lung cancer in male and Colon and rectum cancer in female is increased. 4.The incident of Colon and rectum cancer in male and Colon and rectum cancer,lung cancer,breast cancer in female is increased.The incident of liver cancer is decreased.5.The AYLL of cancer in Pudong New Area is 5.72,5.94 for man and 5.36 for woman. PYLL per 1,000 of cancer is 13.95,and man is 17.59,woman is 10.12.The degree of year-lost in Pudong New Area is heavy than shanghai.6.The DALY of Colon and rectum cancer,lung cancer in male and Colon and rectum cancer,stomach cancer,breast cancer in female is increased.The DALY of stomach cancer is decreased.7.The economic burden of lung cancer,Colon and rectum cancer,breast cancer,liver cancer and stomach cancer increased with years except that of esophagus cancer.Conclusing and discussing1.Strengthening Cancer Surveillance.2.Establishing the feedback of Cancer Surveillance.3 Policies and plans should be worked out for the protection of environment and the prevention of cancer.
