The Expression Of Survivin And Its Relationship With Microvessel Density In Endometriosis

Objective To detect the the expression of the survivin,the role of angiogenesis in endometriosis and the possible role of survivin in angiogenesis of endometriosis.Methods and Materials 17 samples of endometriomata,17 samples of eutopic endometrium of endometriosis and 16 samples of normal eutopic endometrium were collected for immunochemical staining analysis of survivin.We evaluated the microvessel density(MVD) of all samples under microscopy by immunohistochemical staining marked by CD34 and tested the correlation between survivin and MVD.Results 1.Survivin was highly positive in endometriomata and eutopic endometrium of endometriosis,and expressed feebly in only 4 cases of normal eutopic endometrium.The intensity attenuated by turns in the glandular epithelial cells of endometriomata,glandular cells of eutopic endometrium of endomatriosis and normal endometrium,which had statistical differences(P＜0.05).However,there was no statistical difference between the stromal cells of eutopic endometrium with ectopic endometrium of endomatriosis.2.Between the stromal cells and glandular(epithelial) cells,the expression of survivin had significant correlations in normal endometrium,eutopic and ectopic endometrium of endometriosis(R is 0.580,0.733 and 0.676 respectively,P＜0.05).3.The MVD of endometriomata and eutopic endometrium of endometriosis is 28.38±7.49 and 24.58±8.19,which was not statistically different(P＞0.05). The MVD of normal endometrium was 8.92±3.41,less than the above two, which had statistical differences(P＜0.01).4.Only in the stroma of eutopic endometrium from endometriosis did the expression of survivin have significant correlations with MVD,and the Pearson coefficient is 0.561(P＜0.05).We could not improve the correlaitons in any other group. Conclusion 1.The subject above showed that survivinwas positive in both ectopic endometrial tissues and eutopic endometrium of endometriosis, which might play an important role in the development of endometriosis.2.The individual differences of eutopic endometrium might play an imporant role in the development of endometriosis.3.Angiogenesis might play an important role in the etiology and progres of endometriosis,in which survivin might take part.
