The Significance Of Telomerase And Alternative Lengthening Of Telomere Expressing In Osteosarcoma

Objective: To investigate the significance of the expression of telomerase and alternative lengthening of telomere in osteosarcomaMethods: Detect of ALT associated PML bodies and Htert,market of telomerase ,in 31 cases of osteosarcoma by immunohistochemistry and computer image analysis in paraffin section of osteosarcoma.Results: PML positive expression is significantly higher than hTERT in all conventional osteosarcoma(p<0.05); PML positive expression is significantly higher than hTERT in osteoblastic osteosarcoma(p<0.05); Co-expression of PML and hTERT are detected in some specimens; There is one cases of no PML or hTERT expressions.Conclusions:1. The expression of alternative lengthening of telomere is significantly higher than hTERT both in all conventional osteosarcoma and osteoblastic osteosarcoma (p<0.05). 2. Expression of PML and hTERT are detected in some specimens,but telomerase positive expression cells is more than the expression of ALT.3. There may be anther a method maintain telomere beside telomerase and ALT.
