Object:Female pelvic dysfunction diseases (FPD) are caused by the defects and or damages of the pelvic structures, which causes a chain of other organs displace and dysfunction in the middle-aged and elderly women. It includes POP and stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and others. POP has been affected the life quality of the patients and social relationship between others greatly, which causes depress the motions and lose appetite, even sexual appetite. As the population of the aged people increases, the incidence of POP will be higher, therefore it is important to prevent and cure POP.Materials and methodsSelect 72 inpatient cases as the POP group, in which the patients were operated in the first Hospital of Jilin University for the first time during January first 2004 and December 31 2008.They accord with these conditions: main diagnosis is POP; complete and true case history; married and parturition. And we select 108 inpatient cases as the control group, which main or other diagnosis is not included POP during the same time as the POP group. The general information of the POP group includes age, married age, body mass index (BMI), menopause age, times of pregnancy, times of parturition. The median age of the POP group is 59.5; median BMI is 24.75kg/m2; times of pregnancy from one to nine, median is four times; times of parturition from one to nine, median is 2.5 times; the number of menopausal cases is 46, about 63.89%, median menopausal age is 49.6. We diagnose the cases according to the criterion by the Science Research Association about"Two kinds of Diseases"in 1981. We analyze the connection between the POP and the general information of the POP group by the describable, retrospective case-control study on age, BMI, menopause or not, times of pregnancy, times of parturition and other affective factors. We set the database by EXCEL and analyze data by SPSS 13.0. ResultsWe find most of patients'age is above 50 years old, and find there is statistical difference(p<0.05) between the patients age below 50 years old and above 50 years old and there are also statistical differences (P<0.05) among the different grades in POP group. There is statistical difference (P<0.05) between overweight or obesity patients and normal patients. We find there is statistical difference (P<0.05) between the times above three (including three times) of pregnancy or parturition and below three times of pregnancy or parturition. There is statistical difference (P<0.05) between It may indicates that age, overweight or obesity, times of pregnancy or parturition are risk factors to the POP. It shows that there is statistical difference (P<0.05) between menopausal women and not menopausal women. We compare the ways of operation and then find that there is statistical difference(P<0.05) between anterior and posterior colporrhaphy and total vaginal hysterectomy. ConclusionMost of patients'age is above 50 years old; Overweight or obesity, over three times of parturition, menopausal are the risk factors of POP. The kind of surgery style may determine by the age, the need of bearing or not and other factors. Mini-invade operations are the direction of the POP treatment.
