| Objective OSAHS is the common and frequent disease, which characterizes the sleep apnea, shallow respiration, serious snoring, and lethargy in the day time. OSAHS is potentially dangerous, but it is often neglected in our daily life and work. Via the materials of the patients in suspicion, the present research aims at dealing with the relationship between the different degrees of the disease and the related elements such as PSG parameter, gender, age, BMI, blood pressure etc; it also analyzes how the ESS chart scores effect the screening and diagnosis of OSAHS. The research devotes to further improving the understanding of the disease, knowing the impact of factors and the hazards, and accelerating the early diagnosis so as to cure it in time. Methods The research cases came from the 400 patients of the disease in suspicion who ever came to the hospital from January of 2001 to December of 2007, who were grouped according to their AHI: non-OSAHS group (AHI<5times/h), light OSAHS group (AHI: 5-20times/h), medium OSAHS group (AHI:21-40times/h) , and the serious OSAHS group (AHI>40times/h). In the research it is also dealt with the relationship between various related elements and the degrees of OSAHS.Results The researching results are shown as the following: (1) Most of the patients are male , and the proportion between the female and male is 1:10, what's more the patients are mostly above the age of 30 , most of whom are from the age of 40 to 49. However the process of the disease has nothing to do with ages. (2) The longest apnea at night, the occurrence of low oxygen of per hour and the lowest SaO2 is ever more related to the seriousness of OSAHS. (3) Among the patients of OSAHS, whose BMI≥28kg/m2 occupy 60% , so obesity tends to result in OSAHA, and to some degree the scale of BMI decides on the occurrence and seriousness of OSAHS, therefore BMI can be regarded as an important parameter of the seriousness of OSAHS. (4) The AHI parameter of the patients of OSAHS is in positive proportion with blood pressure, and the longer of the apnea at night, the more frequent occurrence of low oxygen of per hour, and the lower of the lowest oxygen saturation of blood, the higher of the patients'blood pressure. Thus the hyoxemia is the vital element to the OSAHS with high blood pressure, most obviously characterize that diastolic blood pressure is high. (5) ESS chart scores are clearly connected to AHI and the oxygen saturation of blood, and lethargy amount chart scores can measure the seriousness of OSAHS, and it can be also as the parameter of the screening and diagnosis of OSAHS.Conclusion (1) OSAHS is closely related to gender, age, and BMI. (2) OSAHS is a dangerous element resulting in high blood pressure. (3) ESS chart scores to some degree, reflects the degree of OSAHS and it is clinical valuable in screening, diagnoses and cure of OSAHS. |
