With the changes of hospital marketing environment in recent years, the hospital management and quality management in china were changed too; many new theories and strategies were adopted and used in hospital, especially the practice of ISO9001, JCIA, evidence-based decision and clinical path, which have deep influence on hospital quality management. New situation requires hospital top management to get rid of traditional experience-based management model, and to adopt total quality management, continuing quality improvement and innovation, implement new quality strategy, establish a new quality management system and model.Firstly, this thesis introduces the research background, explains the definition and glossary of medical quality, hospital accreditation, and illustrates the characteristic and model of health service quality. Then it explains the development and principles of ISO9000, and dissertate the ISO 9000 practice and questions in hospital, including quality policy and hospital culture, quality objective building and management by quality objective, process approach and process re-building, continuing improvement, communication between hospital and patient, and patient complaints management. It also summarizes the experience of ISO9000 practice in Chinese hospital. Secondly, it introduces the development of Joint Committee Accreditation Health Organization, and then explains the standard < Joint commission international accreditation standards for hospital> and its characteristic, and analyzes the JCIA application in Chinese hospital, then compares the differences between ISO9000 and JCIA. Finally, the thesis introduces the BSI and its hospital customers, then analyzes the questions of hospital accreditation, illustrates the QMS performance evaluation methodology, including strategic review and benchmark, and value added auditing. The thesis adopts evidence-based method to research and analyze the application of ISO9000 and JCIA in Chinese hospitals, which will help our hospitals to implement quality management system.
