An Investigation On Health Behavior And Influencing Factors In The Population Of Telecommunications Troops

With the development of intelligent and information tendency in modern high science and technology war, the telecommunication army places a remarkably vital role in military activities gradually. In which more workload and more soldiers will be involved. The military telecommunication operators are threatened in physiological and psychological healthy by the characteristics of high technology requirements. Speedy rhythm work, intense concentration, long-time working, narrow, small activity space, tedious tasks, electromagnetic wave exposure environment and so on. What's more, the modern war embodies the high effect in the application of information and psychological affects which increases the crucible and complication of military struggle. Therefore, High requirements of physical quality and behavioral health for military telecommunication operators have the close relationship with the fighting capacity in peacetime and wartime.To explore the prevalence of unhealthy behavior, the influencing factors and to provide the basic data for strategy of health program in the telecommunications operator population. A sample of 1216 military task population was targeted. The Self-rating Depression Scal (SDS), the social support rate scale(SSRS)and the influencing factors questionnaire were used to assess the level of behavior health.Results show as follows.1. characteristic of the study population Comparing with other performance groups, the targeted population has the characteristics of having more sedentary lifestyle, more female members composition and higher degree level of education.2. The situation of mental health The scores of SDS of the population were about 41.58±10.80. The rate of depressive symptoms was about 23.9%. The Logistic regression analysis revealed that the younger group, lower level education, unmarried state, insufficient sleep, poor ability of environmental adaptation, poor interpersonal relationships and less consumption behavior having a positive relation with the depressive symptoms.3. Situation of health behavior In this study population, the major unhealthy behaviors are poor knowledge of prevent risk (48.2-91.7%), drinking(74.3%), bad heath custom(52.1-60.6%), few sport activity(44.5%), smoking (36.2%), poor behavior of prevent diseases(34.1-40.4%). These indicated that the population has the problems of life behavior. The program of health promoting need to be carried out.4. The influencing factors of behavior This study presented the influencing factors of some important unhealthy behaviors in military population. Among them, the persons with the signals of poor awareness and knowledge of self protection, telecommunication operation work and male are related with the behavior of having poor ability of preventing risk. The signals of male, smoking, poor awareness and knowledge of self protection and higher income are responsible to the drinking. The characteristic of male and poor behavior of preventing diseases are risk factors of behavior of few sport activity.The signals of soldier, drinking, overweight and married, higher age group, smoking, higher income, male are also the risk factors of smoking and overweight respectively.
