Objective: To investigate the expression of Mesothelin and CA125 protein in normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome ,and the correlation between their expression and clinical pathological parameters of normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome .Methods: We compared the expression of Mesothelin and CA125 protein in 16 cases of normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome to 10 cases of normal ovarian tissue and 10 cases of benign ovarian tumor (control groups), immunohistochemistry technique was utilized to examine the expression of Mesothelin and CA125 protein in the above ovarian tissues. Membrane staining of Mesothelin and CA125 proteins was positive cells. X~2 test was used for enumeration data and rank sum test was used for ranked data. Results: (1) The positive rates and strong positive rates of Mesothelin were increasingly increase in normal ovarian group, benign ovarian tumor group and in normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome group. Positive and strong positive rates of normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome group were higher than those of other two groups, the difference was obviously (P<0.01). The positive rates and strong positive rates of CA125 in normal ovarian group, benign ovarian tumor group and in normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome group were increasingly increase too. Positive and strong positive rates of normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome group were higher than those of other two groups, (P<0.05). (2) The expression of Mesothelin protein and CA125 protein in Psoc group higher than in Epspc group(P>0.05) . (3) Positive correlation was found between Mesothelin expression and CA125 expression (P=0.038).Conclusion: (1) The abnormal expression of Mesothelin protein and CA125 protein in normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome may suggest tumorigenesis.(2) The different expression of Mesothelin protein and CA125 protein in the Psoc group and the Epspc group of the normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome may suggest the different origin. (3) The cooperation of Mesothelin protein with CA125 protein in normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome suggests that they advance the growth and the transfusion of the normal sized ovary carcinoma syndrome.
