Study On The Han University Students Somatotype Of Shandong Province

OBJECTIVE To determine the somatotype components and somatotype characteristics of the Han university students of Shandong Province,and to analysis the difference caused by sex and area.METHODS The sample consisted of 4512 healthy participants randomly including 2511 male and 2001 female students of Qingdao University and was divided into groups by sex,area and age.The Heath-Carter anthropometric somatotyping method was used. The somatotype components was calculated and compared by T-test and analysis of variance(ANOV) to test differences among the somatotype means and the somatotype attitudinal distance(SAD).RESULTS[1]The somatotypes means and the somatotype distributions and somatotype components of the urban and rural male students was 3.9-4.7-2.5,3.4-4.0-3.1, respectively,the HWR,42.6,44.5 and The rate of body fat,15.8,18.1,.The somatotypes means and the somatotype distributions and somatotype components of the urban and rural female students was 4.9-3.2-2.7,4.3-3.2-2.8,respectively,the HWR,42.7,42.8,and The rate of body fat,23.4,19.8.[2]The result was revealed by T-test and ANOV:The somatotypes means and the somatotype distributions and somatotype components varies with sex and area,while not varies with age.[3]The weight,height,perimeter of the upper arm,calf girth,Biepicondylar breadth of the humerus and Biepicondylar breadth of the femur of male samples were greater than the female samples,the skinfold of the male samples was thinner than the male(P＜0.05).CONCLUSION[1]Compared with the female samples,the male had higher values of Mesomorph and lower values of the Endomorphy;compared with the rural samples,the urban samples had higher values Endomorph and lower those of Ectomorph,the values of Mesomorph were similar.[2]For the male students,the mean somatotypes were mainly Endomorphic Mesomorph,Mesomorphic Endomorph,Mesomorph-Ectomorph,Balanced Mesomorph and Central,the mean somatotypes of urban samples was slightly leaning to Endomorph,and rural samples,slightly leaning to Mesomorph.For the female students, the mean somatotypes were mainly Endomorphic Mesomorph,Central, Endomorph-Mesomorph and the mean somatotypes of urban samples was slightly leaning to Endomorph,and rural samples,slightly leaning to Central somatotypes.[3]The somatotypes means and the somatotype distributions and somatotype components varies with sex and area.[4]For the male Han university students of Shandong,the somatotypes were similar to Czechoslovakia and U.S.A.;For the female,the somatotype are similar to Zhuang nationality,U.K.and U.S.A.,different from the other nationality.
