Analysis On Molecular Epidemiological Investigation Of Nosocomial ESBLs Producing Escherichia Coli In Macau

OBJECTIVETo understand the distribution and genotype of nosocomial extended spectrum beta lactamases(ESBLs) producing Escherichia coil in Macau.To establish the epidemiological data of nosocomial ESBLs producing E.coli in Macau.METHODS1.54 ESBLs producing Eschefichia coli were determined by phennotypic confirmatory test according to NCCLS standards.2.3 common beta lactamase genes of CTX-M,TEM and SHV in ESBLs producing non-repeated isolates were amplified by PCR.3.Analyse the data of PCR product and the distribution in hospital.RESULTS1.Of all isolates,87%,0%,100%and 0%were respectively found carrying CTX-M-9,CTX-M-3,TEM and SHV gene.In addition,87%of all strains carrying more than one beta-lactamase gene.2.ESBLs producing isolates were widely distrbuted over all of the clinical departments.40.7%of the isolates were provided from common surgery department,27.8%fo the isolates were provided from medicine department, 16.7%from cardial department,5.6%from intensive care unit and cancer unit and 3.7%form paediatric department.3.Urine,discharge or pus,blood and sputum were commom samples,accounting for 55.6%,22.2%and 11.1%.CONCLUSION1.The predominan genotype of nosocomial ESBLs producing Escherichia coli in Macau was TEM(100%),87%of all strains carrying CTX-M-9 gene.It is very interesting.Because TEM gene can develop to produce ESBLs by point 2.ESBLs producing isolates mostly came from urine and discharge or pus,where they were widely prevalent in that hospital.
