Objective:According to the phlegm and blood stasis due to the stagnation of qi is the basic pathogenesis of esophageal carcinoma,"xing qi san jie fang" based on the therapeutic principle of promoting qi circulation was studied out for esophageal cancer,combined with chemotherapy(DDP+5-Fu/CF regimen) to observe the effect of the treatment with integrated traditional Chinese and westem medicine on esophageal cancer.Methods:40 subjects with esophageal cancer were randomly divided into two groups,20 patients in the treated group were administered with "xing qi san jie fang" and chemotherapy(DDP+5-Fu/CF regimen),20 in the control group with chemotherapy alone.Objective effects and the changes of subjective symptoms were studied during two periods of treatment.Results:After two periods of treatment,the subjective symptoms, KPS,weights,immune parameters were significantly improved in the treated group, better than in the control one.But there was no difference between two groups on the size of focus,the toxicity occurent rate and toxic degree were slighter in the treated group than in the control one.Conclusion:"xing qi san jie fang" and chemotherapy (DDP+5-Fu/CF regimen) have synergia curative effect on treating esophageal carcinoma.
