| Objective: To observe and investigate the curative effect of Soften Liver and Strengthen Spleen method in treating Children's Chronic Bronchitis of Protracted Course and its mechanisation through of theory and clinic. Methods:According to the random, parallel control principle, 76 Chronic Bronchitis of Protracted course children of the spleen deficiency and liver prosperous Syndrome in TCM were randomized into treatment group and control group. The changes fore-and-aft treatment were observed and compared. The treatment group patients were treated with the Soften Liver and Strengthen Spleen decoction ; the control group patients were treated with The Granule of relieve cough ang sputum for children. One month for a treatment course. Results: Clinical results indicated the total efficiency of the treatment group had significant differences compared with the control group. The symptoms, signs, physical and chemical test results, such as cough, sputum , auscultation on lung, chest x-ray condition improved, and the treatment group were superior to the control group. Clinical safety index results indicated the Soften Liver and Cure Spleen decoction was with no toxic side effects for important organs. Conclusions: The Method Of Soften Liver And Strengthen Spleen is safe and effective in treating Children's Chronic Bronchitis of Protracted Course of the spleen deficiency and liver prosperous Syndrome in TCM, and with science and practicality.
