Objective:To analyze imaging of renal angiomyolipoma with minimal fat and renal cell carcinoma, then improve ability of differential diganosis.Materials and Methods:The US,CT and MRI features of 7 patients with renal angiomyolipoma with minimal fat and 133 patients with renal carcinoma, proved by operation and pathology, were retrospectively studied. Results:All seven patients with renal angiomyolipoma with minimal fat showed homogeneous isoechogenicity on sonograms, homogeneously high attenuation on unenhanced CT images, and homogeneous enhancement on contrast-enhanced CT images, and five patients showed prolonged enhancement. No one contained calcification. Two of the angiomyolipomas were examined with MR images, and both were hypointense on T2-weighted images.Of the 133 renal cell carcinomas,23 contained calcification. And two renal cell carcinomas showed homogeneously high attenuation on unenhanced CT images, and homogeneous enhancement and prolonged enhancement on contrast-enhanced CT images, but none of them showed homogeneous isoechogenicity on sonograms.Twelve renal cell carcinomas performed MR images,of which,11 showed homogeneous herperintensity, isointensity or heterogeneous signal intensity on T2-weighted images and only one were hypointense. Conclusion:According to the analysis of the US,CT and MRI features,it is available to differentiate most of the renal angiomyolipoma with minimal fat and renal cell carcinoma. |
