Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To investigate relationship between the expressions of HPSE protein and invasion or metastasis in human lung cancer. Methods: The expression of HPSE protein in 52 cases of lung cancer, adjacent tissues of cancer and normal tissues was tested by immunohistochemical SABC method and RT-PCR.Results: The rate of expression of HPSE protein in tumor tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues of cancer and normal tissues(P<0.05). It was shown that HPSE protein expression did significantly not correlate with the type and grade of the tumor(P>0.05), but it correlated with the clinical stage and survival time of the patients(P<0.05).Conclusion: The results suggested that the overexpression of HPSE protein is closely correlated to invasion and metastasis in human lung cancer which may serve as a parameter for predicting tumor metastasis. By detecting Heparanase (HPSE) protein expression in 52 cases of lung cancer tissues, contrasting adjacent tissues and normal lung tissue, combinating at the same time the clinical and pathological features and prognosis for analysis of the lung cancers, and using immunohistochemistry of the SABC method, the relationship is explored between HPSE expression and lung cancer metastasis. The results showed that the HPSE protein expression in lung cancer is signifieantly higher than normal lung tissue and adjacent tissues (P<0.05); different types and different degree of differentiation in lung cancer HPSE protein expression is no significant difference (P>0.05) ;Phaseâ…¢and Phaseâ…£lung cancer in HPSE protein expression is significantly higher than that of Phase I and Phase II (P<0.05); following the three-year survival in lung cancer HPSE protein expression is significantly higher than the survival of more than three years ( P<0.05). Conclusion: HPSE protein expression in the growth of lung cancer, and the transfer of angiogenesis plays an important role. HPSE protein can be used as a biological behavior of lung cancer and the prognosis of patients with a reference.
