Background and objectives:Stroke has gradually become the most important infectious disease in the world since it has the high rates of incidence, mortality ,and prevalence and causes high economic cost. In these recent years, cerebral stroke has also been the main public health problem in my countries with the couse of population aging and the change of lifestyle. There are about one million and six hundred thousand people suffer from cerebral stroke every year, which is three times more than the people who suffer from coronary artery disease, so at present cerebral stroke is the dominant factor causing early onset death and disability in our country. In China the morbidity and mortality of stroke have distinguished in different regions, which possibly reflects the different degree of exposure to the risk factors, or which is possibly caused by the different treatment in different region that including second-level prevention and long-term management of nervous system sequelae both in acute stage and after acute period of stoke. Thus, this investigation intend to find out:1. the status of the quality of life in each aspect after stroke;2.the influencing factors of the quality of life to acute stroke survivals, providing the basis of clinical application value and improving the quality of life of stroke patients.Methods:1. The clinical cases include outpatients and hospital patients fromAugust to Novermber 2006 in the first affiliated hospital of NanChang University and from July to Novermber 2006 in the second people hospital of NanChang.2. Selecting cases: (1)the onset time is less than two weeks (including two weeks); (2) precluding cerebroventricular haemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage recrudescent cerebral stroke, severe cardiac insufficiency ,severe renal inadequacy and TIA patients; (3) older than 18 years old.3. Collection of data: the collected information including the demography of registered cases: age, gender, marriage, pathological types of stroke and hospital outcome. Besides baseline and assessment of discharge time, we follow-up visit all survivals in the 3th±1and 12th±1 month. Scoring adopt the disability grade scale table when admission to hospital, adopt reforming S-QOL scale when the 3th±1and 12th±1 month after onset.4. Statistical method: Paired-samples t-test was used to compare the different status of the quality of life between the 3th±1and 12th±1 month after onset, Independence t-test was used to compare the total score of the quality of life between the disability grade at discharging with logestic regression analysis was used to evaluate the role of the influencing factors of the quality of stroke survivals'life. All the data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 software. Results:1. Paired-samples t-test was used to compare the total score of the quality of life between at the 3th±1 and at 12th±1 month after stroke, also including physiologic function, activity, family economy, mental state and society healthy, which all have statistical significance (P<0.01).2. Logestic regression analysis found out that the influencing factors of quality of life is age, complication and disability grade at discharging time (P<0.01).3. Independence t-test was used to compare the total score of the quality of life of low-grade disability grade,mid-grade disability grade with high--grade disability grade, which all have statistical significance (P=0.000,0.016 correspongding).Conclusions:1. The total score of quality of life at the 12th±1 month after stroke onset is obviously higher than that at the 3th±1 month, the sub-item including physiologic function, activity and family economy of quality of life at the 12th±1 month after stroke onset are obviously recovered more better than that at the 3th±1 month, however, the level of mental state and society healthy aspect are lightly lower.2. Age, complication and disability grade at discharging time is the important influencing factors of quality of life after stroke.
