The Effective Evaluation On The Parents Of The Infants Received The SOAP

Objective:Based upon the study of the influence on infants' growth and nutritional diseases produced by the parents who have received the SOAP nutrition consultancy training, this thesis aims to figure out an effective instruction for the infant nutrition.Method:One hundred infants who had physical examination in the Shanxi Hospital for the Women and Children were taken as samples and randomly divided into two groups:intervention group and control group.They were observed for six months.The infants' parents from the invention group received the SOAP nutrition consultancy training,concluding(1) information about the food and nutrition(subjective):the history of feeding,habits and hobby of food,food investigation,meals and ratio,whether food preference and ways of making food;(2) examining the body's nutrition condition(objective):measuring height,weight,deficiency disease and related lab indexes;(3) nutrition assessment(assessment):assessing nutrition investigation according to the Recommending Standard Quantity of Dietary Reference Intakes to know the food structures,whether the nutrients meet the body's needs,and evaluating the current nutrition condition based on the results of the nutrition investigation;(4) nutrition plan(plan):based on the diseases and combining economy and habits of eating,providing the instructions for food nutrition principles,including food taboos,food equivalence conversion,reference menu and other principles.The infants' parents from the control group received the regular instructions of the children health,including physical examination,relating lab examination,therapies to the nutritional diseases.The researchers examined the two groups of infants every three months, including physical examination(weight,height,perimeter of head and kaup indexes) and nutrition diseases(Rickets of Vitamin D Deficiency,nutritional anemia,Iodine Deficient Disorders,Zinc Deficiency) and regular evaluated their parents' knowledge of nutrition and feeding behaviors.Results:1.After six months of intervention,two groups of infants' parents improved their nutrition knowledge,beliefs and behaviors.Based on the analysis of variance of repeated measure data, the scores of infant supplementary food,nutrition knowledge and feeding knowledge,made by the infants' parents from the intervention are much higher than those made by the infants' parents from the control group and the difference is brilliant(P＜0.05).2.After six months of intervention,the infant supplementary food of the intervention group is more reasonable,and its ratio of Dietary Reference Intakes(DRIs) to the recommending intakes quantity almost reaches the standards.In comparison with the control group,the difference is brilliant(P＜0.05).3.After six months of intervention,two groups of infants had no statistic difference in weight,height,head perimeter and kaup indexes.However,the analysis of variance of repeated measure data showed that the infants from the intervention group grew faster in their weight and height than the infants of the control group did.And difference is brilliant(P＜0.01).4.After six months of intervention,the happening rates of nutritional diseases,iodine deficiency disorders and zinc deficient in the intervention group are lower than in the control group and the difference is brilliant(P＜0.01).Conclusions:1.The parents who have studied the SOAP nutrition consultancy training made greater improvements in the nutrition knowledge,beliefs and behaviors than the parents from the control group.2.Due to the parents who have studied the SOAP nutrition consultancy training improved their feeding ways and supplemented food more reasonably,some growth indexes of the infants of the intervention are better than those of the control group.3.SOAP nutrition consultancy is a special instruction for the children health and advantageous to the convention ways.It is proved that SOAP is an effective way for children care.
