| Clinical Observation on Therapeutic Effects of Combined Use of Rhodiola rosea and Losartan in Treating Diabetic NephropathyFor the past few years,the disease incidence of diabetic nephropathy in China increased strikingly,in the prospective 20 years,DN probably will be the main reason leading to ESRD.DN has a long course of disease,varied etiological factors and pathological categories.No ideal treatment was found in modern medicine at present,If DN was not therapied in time,the syndrome diabetics would develop metastases in serious ways and the life of patients would be threatened.So it is of practical significance to search for the investigative methods of traditional Chinese medicine.Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of rhodiola rosea in combination with losartan in treating early diabetic nephropathy,and observe the mechanism of action of rhodiola rosea in preventioning and curing early diabetic nephropathy.Methods 64 patients came from the medical department of nephropathia and endocrine in Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.64 patients with DN who were stagnation of blood had a deficiency of both qi and yin.All the cases were randomly allocated into treatment and control group.Rhodiola rosea drug granules(pocketful,Bid)with losartan were administered continuously for 2 months in treatment group in addition to the conventional treatment with strengthening exercises,anti-hyperglycemics,controlling meat and drink, intaking protein 0.8g/kg·d and losartan(50mg,Qd)in control group.The indices of FPG,HbAlC,TC,TG,HDL-C,UAER,β2-MG in urine,Scr,BUN,ALB and the data of haemorheology were observed before and after treatments,and the results were compared.Results①The total effective rate was 87.5%in treatment group.It had a significant difference,as compared with control group(P＜0.01).②The improvement rate in the Chinese symptom-complex was 96.9%in treatment group(P＜0.01).③The 4 cardinal haplo-syndromes in TCM improved obviously in treatment group compared with those in control group (P＜0.01),other haplo-syndromes also improved.④FPG and HbAlC decreased obviously in both groups,especially in treatment group,as compared with control group(P＜0.05).⑤TC,TG decreased and HDL-C increased significantly in treatment group(P＜0.05).There were not obvious differences in control group.⑥Both of the groups reduced UAER andβ2-MG in urine efficiently,In contrast,the reduction was greater in treatment group(P＜0.01).There were not significant differences in Scr, BUN and ALB before and after treatments in the two groups.⑦The data of haemorheology had a amendment in treatment group after 2 months(P＜0.05).⑧The routine examination of blood,urine,stool and the hepatic function was normal before and after treatments in treatment group.⑨In the whole process of clinic therapy,all the patients had not any adverse reaction.Conclusion①Rhodiola rosea could especially step down the urinary albumin excretory rate of the patients of early diabetic nephropathy.②Rhodiola rosea had a predominance on improving the Chinese symptom-complex.③Rhodiola rosea could improve the indices of blood sugar,blood fat and the data of haemorheology.④Rhodiola rosea had a all-round effective and this protecting effect was relative to its affirmative role on microcirculation disturbance etc.⑤Rhodiola rosea could especially prevent the progress of renal damage in early diabetic nephropathy by all kinds of means.It was safe and had not any adverse reaction.
