Skin Physiometry Of Acne And Sensitive Skin, Etiological Factors Of Sensitive Skin In Kunming Of China

Objective: (1) To observe the difference of skin physiology function between people with acne and healthy people, according to the skin physiologic characteristic guide the better therapy. (2) To observe the etiological factor of sensitive skin and its skin physiologic function characteristic, according to that guide the better prophylaxis, therapy and skin care.Methods: (1) There were 120 subjects. Half of them were patients with acne, they are 20 male and 40 female, and their average age is 23.4. The other 60 subjects are health people acting as placebo group in this study, they are 20 male and 40female, their average age is 25.1. We compared sebum secretion between patients and controls, and their skin hydration, sebum and elasticity were being objectively measured with no-invasive instrument. (2) There were 126 subjects who have been diagnosed as sensitive skin. All of them are female, their average age is32.7. Applied to them questionnaire about sensitive skin, intracutaneous test, patch test and establishing minimal erythema doses to ultraviolet radiation. Their skin lipid, hydration and electricity were being objectively measured with no-invasive instrument.Results: (1) The amount of Sebum secretions in the T-zones (areas of high sebum secretion, 199.98±58.21μg/cm2) was higher in patients with acne than controls (117.55±63.16μg/cm2). There was distinct difference among them (t =7.343, P<0.05), and the patients with acne the amount of Sebum in U-zone (areas of low sebum secretion, 154.45±55.06μg/cm2) also higher than controls (87.50±47.36μg/cm2), There was also distinct difference among them (t =7.141,P<0.05) . But skin elasticity and corneum hydration were no difference between patients and controls (elasticity P =0.675, P<0.05, hydration P=0.066, P>0.05). (2) We found that women with higher civilization level and skin photo typingIII(within type III, IV, V) prone to sensitive. There are many factors could increase the risk of sensitive skin, asthma or other hypersensitivity disease (OR=5.939) , genetic predisposition(OR=3.822), temperature variation (OR=4.874), solarition (OR=7.083), spicy food (OR=5.297), cosmetic (OR=9.109) , ionising radiation (OR=7.068) and incorrectness skin care (OR=14.655) . The major sensitinogens of intracutaneous test in our research were pollen (64.3%), high protein diet (63.5%), house dusty (76.9%), dust acari(75.3%).We also found that nickel sulfate (26.9%), formalin (23.8%) and ammoniated mercury (24.6%) were cause sensitive skin. About 30% women with sensitive skin can't tolerant UVB. The amount of Sebum secretions and skin hydration of sensitive skin are lower than healthy skin. There was distinct difference among them (P<0.05). But skin elasticity was no difference between patients and controls (P>0.05).Conclusions: (1) Increased levels of facial sebum secretion were observed in patients with acne. The patients with acne should be use cosmetic that oil controllers and moisturizers. (2) The factors cause sensitive skin were complicated, not only related to age, inherit and skin type, but also related to Temperature variation, solarition, spicy food, cosmetic, many materials in our daily life. Person with sensitive skin should avoid possible sensibiligen. There is skin barrier function damage in sensitive skin, and need correct skin care, such as moisturizer, anti-sensitive, sunscreen and so on.
