Objective To standardize the operation procedure and avoid the postoperative complications by retrospective analysis of anatomy and operation feature of subciliary approach. Methods Clinical data of 73 patients with maxillary fracture combined or not combined with upper 2/3 facial fracture (63 of them were were male and 10 were female) hospitalized in second affiliated hospital ZheJiang University college of Medicine from May, 2006 to November, 2007 were analyzed retrospectively. Results Subciliary approach was carried out in 18 patients, all of whom were primary healing except one with postoperative infection. Limitation of mouth opening and occluding relation was significantly improved before they discharged from the hospital. 3 patients had slight ectropion and recovered by itself in 6 months. Conclusion Subciliary approach is a important incision method in reconstruction of upper 2/3 facial fracture, especially in inferior orbital fracture. Standardizing operation procedure in subciliary approach is the key to preventing complications form occurring.. |
