ObjectiveTo investigate the status quo of the professional thinking of the second and third batch of the nursing undergraduate after high school magnify the number of the students and compare the thinkings in different time(after mission,before the practice and after 5 months of practice).To analysis the existing question and the reason and to explore the way to stabilize the thinking.MethodsDescriptive study was applied.146 nursing undergraduate students of Grade 2003 in Huzhou Teachers College were closed questioned and interviewed.The questionnaire was designed by the researcher herself through bibliographic search and modified by some experts who studied the nursing education.supervision and scientific research for a long time after the first draft was made.The questionnaire concentrated on the matriculation motivation. professional cognition and the plan for the future.The questionnaires were given to the students after mission,before the practice and after 5 months of practice.(Some questions were altered extenuatorily.) SPSS11.0 was applied for the statistical analysis.Results(1)The proportion of the level 2 and level 3 undergraduate who applied for the nursing speciality of his or her own accord are 12.1 %and 29.6%respectively,most of the students did not understand the nursing working before mission.(2)Before practice,78.1%of the students expressed that they did not regret choosing the nursing speciality,and 90.4%of the students were confident in doing the job well.(3)After 5 months of practice,the ratio of the undergraduate who would work as a nurse were 68.4%and 72.2%respectively;the ratio of changing job were 26.3%and 13.9%.(4)No matter the level 2 or level 3 students,the number of"liking the job of nursing"." willing to stay at the nursing post"changed,every two time points showing significant different(P<0.05 or 0.01) ConclusionThe nursing undergraduate are lack of the understanding of the specialty when they applied for the specialty,with impulsiveness to some extent.The professional thinking is better before practice than mission,but not firm enough.After 5 months of practice,the professional thinking downtrend.So it is necessary to take some steps to stabilize the thihking.
