Background and purpose Recently, with the development of living standard, coronary artery disease has been the most frequent cause of morbidity and mortality. Today, conventional invasive coronary angiography(CCA) is still the gold standard for the assessment of coronary artery disease(CAD).But the technique is limited byits invasive characteristics and related complications. Multi-detector spiral CT (MDCT) coronary artery angiography is a non-invasive technology to visualize coronary artery tree and to diagnose CAD. With the increasing application of CTA technology, people are made much of the harm of iodine. The study preliminary discussed that how to use the least contrast quantity in existing condition .Objective To evaluate how to use the least contrast quantity, the velocity of injection and iodine concentration in 64- detector computed tomography coronary imaging, in order to decrease the harm to patient.Materials and Methods 48 patients with known or suspected CAD underwent CT coronary angiography using 64 -detector CT. All patients were randomly divided four groups, every group include 12 patients. A is the standard group and B,C,D are study group. Contrast quantity, velocity of injection and iodine concentration was respectively used 65mL,5.0mL/s,370mgI/mL in A group,45mL,5.0mL/s,370mgI/mL in B group,40.5mL,4.5mL/s,370mgI/mL in C group and 40.5mL,4.5mL/s,350mgI/mL in D group. MPR, MIP, VR reconstruction with enhanced scan images were made in every case .The image quality of all coronary images of the AHA classification were evaluated.(Such technique of scanning can be used in GE 64 multi-detector CT).Our condition is enough to accomplish the study because it would be do in 5 s to achieve a coronary scan with GE 64 -detector CT.Results Statistics tell these images from four groups without statistical difference. Conclusion The result express that select correct scan technique can decrease the contrast quantity, velocity of inject and iodine concentration in coronary CTA examination and so it is a valuable discovery for patients with CAD.
