Pancreatic cancer is a kind of malignant disease which does great harm to people, and its incidence rises year by year following the improvement of living condition. The epidemiological and etiological research, which can be based on to make etiologic prevention and monitor high risk crowd, suggests that smoking, high protein and cholesterol diet, chronic pancreatitis and diabetes are correlated to this cancer. As the cancer has nonspecific symptom and physical sign in the early stage, it is usually advanced stage when most patients finally diagnosed. So diagnositic methods, including tumor markers, molecular biology test of pancreatic juice and imageology, which have high sensibility and specificity should be used to get final diagnosis as early as possible. At present, surgery is still the important treatment by which cancer patients could obtain long term survival, but the special biological character will lead to kinds of complications, which makes the living quality descend. So it is critical to chose right surgical method for the pancreatic cancer treatment. Besides, new treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunogene and target therapy are increasingly important. This paper overviews the pertinent literature of pancreatic cancer ,hoping to make some reference to clinical work.
