Objective:To observe the effect of standard refraction of presbyopia and traditional refraction of presbyopia, understand the value of using phoropter in precise test for ADD of presbyopic refrraction. Methods: The experiment select 101patients of presbyopia, who visit Harbin 242 hospital from June in 2006 to December in 2007.46 (45.54%) cases are male and 55(54.46%) cases are female.Patients' age from 36 to 74 years, average age is 54. Observing with the test method of running, mono-blind, own control. After the refraction of distant vision , we refract presbyopic patients with standard refraction of presbyopia and traditional refraction of presbyopia. Compare in two kinds of refractional methods in many aspects, such as ADD, near eyesight after correction, and the degree of comfort and duration. These results are statistically analyzed with SPSS 12.0.Result: There were significant differences between the ADD of standard refraction of presbyopia and traditional refraction of presbyopia (P<0.05 ) . There were no significant differences between near eyesight after correction of standard refraction of presbyopia and traditional refraction of presbyopia(P>0.05). There were significant differences between the degree of comfort and duration of standard refraction of presbyopia and traditional refraction of presbyopia(P<0.05). The satisfactional rate of degree of comfort and duration is 77.2% in standard refraction of presbyopia and is 60.4% in traditional refraction of presbyopia. Conclusion: The result of the standard refraction of presbyopia with phoropter is oustrip to the traditional refraction of presbyopia. We can test ADD and refract presopia more precise by using phoropter, in order to make sure the clear, comfortable and durable dimensionality of eyeglasses.
