Studies On Chemical Constituents Of Michelia Figo

Michelia figo is a plant of Magnoliaceae Michelia Linn and the important natural resource of Chinese medicinal materials.Clinically,it is used to treat irregular menses,costa sternales intercrop acted up.The volatile oil extracted from the flowers,leaves of Michelia figo,have the activity of anticancer and antiinflammatory.Most of these compounds are sesquiterpenoids.The volatile oil of flowers of Michelia figo was extracted by water steam distillation and extraction with ether respectively,and the chemical constituents were analyzed by GC-MS.Forty eight compounds of the volatile oil have been isolated separately.Thirty nine compounds of the volatile oil from the flowers have been identified.The main constituents arenerolidol(76.3 7%),a-amorphene(6.38%),d-cadinene(4.26%),a-copaene(1.40%).Seven compounds were isolated from the flowers of Michelia figo by silicagel column chromatography. Four of them were identified by NMR.They were 1-sesamin, Horsfieldin,Fargesin,Pinoresinol dimethoxy ether.All of th-em were lignan and isolated from this plant for the first time.
