The Significance By Combining Assay With Tumor Markers For Lung Cancer Diagnosis

Objective To study the clinical validity of combined measurement of tumor markers in diagnostic evaluation of lung cancer.Methods Serum levels of CEA, NSE, CYFRA21-1, ProGRP,M2-PK were measured by ELISA in 62 patients with lung cancer,40 patients with benign pulmonary diseases and 20 healthy subjects and analyzed.Results(1)Section 5 of lung cancer serum tumor markers (CEA,CYFRA21-1,NSE,M2-PK,PRO-GRP)were significantly higher than that benign pulmonary disease group and the normal control group (P<0.05)。(2)The results showed that, for benign and malignant lung diseases and lung different histological types of lung cancer,the tumor markers express differently。CEA in patients with lung adenocarcinoma, the seroprevalence was high (88.9%). Squamous carcinoma of the lung, the sensitivity of CYFRA21-1 was 68.6%. It is statistical significance that CEA in patients with adenocarcinoma(27.30±9.43ng/ml) of the lung comparing with the seroprevalence(13.17±8.35 ng/ml) (P<0.05).And it is also statistical significance that CYFRA21-1 in patients with seroprevalence (12.04±5.98ng/ml) of the lung comparing with the adenocarcinoma (8.30±2.88 ng/ml) (P<0.05).In lung cancer the tumor markers NSE,ProGRP,M2-PK expression has no statistical significance by comparing seroprevalence with adenocarcinoma。(3)The tumor markers express differently in tumor stage。The expression of TM CEA,CYFRA21-1,NSE,M2-PK increase with the increase of tumor stage (P<0.05).And PRO-GRP in stageⅣwas higher other three stage. (4) By Parallel the Sensitivity of CEA+NSE,CEA+CYFRA21-1,NSE+CYFRA21-1,CEA+NSE+CYFRA21-1 were 72.1%,82.4%,73.3%,88.9%,and the Specific were 95.7%,70.7%,72.5%,60.1%。however, by Series the Sensitivity of CEA+NSE,CEA+CYFRA21-1,NSE+CYFRA21-1,CEA+NSE+CYFRA21-1 were 19.1%,33.7%,20.2%,17.5%,and the Specific were 95.7%,70.7%,72.5%,60.1%。Conclusion Combined measure-ment of multiple serum tumor markers significantly increases the diagnosis sensitivity. In addition, it is also of significance indefining cancer clinical staging and identification of pathologic category.
