| Objective : Nasal polyp (NP) is a common and frequently-occurring disease in clinic. Up to now, the pathogenesis of NP has yet to be achieved. Generally ,the disease incidence of the adult is about 1-4%,,Easily to recur is a characterist of NP . The study have confirmed that NP is inflammatioal tumor controlled by part environment .currently, the origin of NP is tend to multiple factors . The researches for the past years have confirmed that the anomal metabolidm of free radicals are closed to the occuring and development of many diseases. The activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) reflects the ability of the inner cells to remove free radicals. malondialdehyde (MDA) is production of lipid peroxidation in organism., and its content could reflect the level of lipid peroxidation, the information of impaired cells indirectly .SOD and MDA are the principal indexs for judging the basal metabolism condition of free radicals. Adenosine deaminase (ADA) is a important enzyme in the purine nucleotide metabolism, it is closed to the emerging and metabolism of free radicals. The research is aimed to determine MDA level,SOD activity and ADA activity in polyp and serum of patients with nasal polyp and normal people, to approach the effect of them in NP and the relation as well as significance among them , to evaluate the effect of them in the pathogensy of NP ,thereby, to provide theory evidence for curing and preventing beforehand of NP .METHODS:Choosing cases , grouping and obtaining specimens Dividing to two groups: nasal polyp and septal deviation .Twenty-four patients aged 14 to 54 years(mean age=34.6), who had undergone funcitional endoscopic sinus surgery(FESS)for nasal polyposis, were included in the study. Fifteen cases were male, while nine cases were female. Nasal polyps were confirmed before surgery by nasal endoscopy and computed tomography. The control, twenty patients aged 23 to 55 years (mean age=36.5), were normal nasal mucosa taken from the inferior tubinate of polyps on endoscopic and computed tomographic evaluations. They were all male. Control subjects did not receive any medication before surgery and they were characterized by the absence of polyps on endoscopic and computed tomographic evaluations. Control tissues were taken from the lateral mucosal surface of the inferior turbinates. All the patients had not hypertension,hyperlipemia,liver ailment,degenerative nephritis. The control did not have allergial symptoms, for example, rhinocnesmus,sneeze,sniveling . the tissue takened by endoscopic were poached in physiologic saline bloodstain and the serum which got from centrifuged empty stomach venous blood in morning of the patients put in refrigerator which set up the temperature to -20℃, Applying TBA colourimetry,xanthinoxidase method and Gisti colourimetry to detect inferior mucous homogenate and the serum.Results:1.MDA level,ADA and SOD activity in the tissues MDA level in the group of NP was evidently higher compared to the group of the control,the results are between the two groups are (2.93±0.25)nmol/mgprot and(1.66±0.12)nmol/mgprot(P<0.05);SOD activity in the group of NP was evidently lower compared to the group of the control,the results are between the two groups are (8.64±1.02) U/mgprot and(13.37±2.95) U/mgprot(P<0.05); ADA activity in the group of NP was evidently higher compared to the group of the control,the results are between the two groups are(10.43±0.87)U/mgprot and (6.16±0.52) U/mgprot(P<0.05).2. MDA level,ADA and SOD activity in the serum MDA level in the group of NP was evidently higher compared to the group of the control,the results are between the two groups are (5.84±0.38)nmol/ml and(3.79±0.31)nmol/ml(P<0.05); SOD activity in the group of NP was evidently lower compared to the group of the control,the results are between the two groups are (13.28±2.31)U/ml and(29.64±3.68)U/m(lP<0.05); ADA activity in the group of NP was evidently higher compared to the group of the control,the results are between the two groups are(9.66±0.79)U/ml and (6.31±0.48 )U/ml(P<0.05).3. There was a inverse correlation between the NP group and the control group of MDA and SOD in tissues, with the result (r=-0.74,P<0.05).4. There was a inverse correlation between the NP group and the control group of MDA and SOD in serum, with the result (r=-0.86,P<0.05).5.There was a positive correlation between the NP group and the control group of MDA and ADA in tissues, with the result (r=0.66,P<0.05).6. There was a positive correlation between the NP group and the control group of MDA and ADA in serum, with the result (r=0.66,P<0.05).Conclusions:Nasal polyp is the result of the effect of multiple factors, the research confirms that the anormal metabolism of free radicals is one of the important factors of NP. In the normal physiological condition, the content of free radicals which can remove by enzymatic system and anti-oxidant in NP tissues is very low and have little influence to organism . SOD is the most important material in the system of free radicals removing, its activity reflects the ability of removing free radicals as well as anti-oxidable. There is a balance which is lower level and advantageous but no harmless between producing and removing of free radicals in normal living body. In the patients of NP the activity and the ability of anti-oxidable of SOD cut down obviously, so the ability to remove free radicals in corpore and part. Malondialdehyde (MDA) is production of lipid peroxidation in organism. , and its content could reflect the level of lipid peroxidation, the information of impaired cells indirectly. ADA is the sign of activated T cell, which contacts intimately to keep the immune system, and it is concerned with NO-,O2-,H2O2 and OH- produced by neutrophil. The activity of ADA increase obviously in NP patients, which makes raise free radicals and aggravate damage to organism. In a word, the ability of removing free radicals descends and lipid peroxidation reaction actives in the patients of NP, which hints that metabolic disorder of free radicals is one of the pathogenesy of NP, the damage of immune system in organism is a remote cause of NP. thereby, it can provide theory roof for curing and preventing NP. |
