Objective To observe the vessel patency rate and histopathologic changes and immunoreaction and endothelialization after Implantation of freezed,dried and irradiated arterial allografts in difference lengths.Methods 90 healthy rabbits were used as the experimental models and were divided into 3 groups by random principle,each group included thirty rabbits.Three segments (1cm,3cm,5cm)of the common femur arteries were surgically removed and bridged with freezed,dried,irra- diated arteries the length was(2cm,4cm,6cm)respectively from other rabbits.The femur arteries were anastomosed end to end with the arterial allograft.Samples were taken after 1day,1 week,2 weeks,6 weeks,10 weeks,and the vessel patency rate and histopathologic changes were observed by DSA,light microscope,scanning electron microscope res-pectively.Results The vessel patency number was 6/6,5/6,5/6,5/6,5/6;5/6,4/6,4/6,2/6,2/6;4/6, 3/6,3/6,1/6,1/6 in A groups(vessel patency rates were 86.9%),B groups(vessel patency rates were 56.9%),C groups(vessel patency rates were 40%)at one day,one week,two weeks,six weeks,ten weeks,r-espectively.Histopathologic examinationns showed that the matrix was complete in freezed,dried and irradiated arterial homograft.After ten we- eks of implangtation,the graft were sodded about 2cm from proximate anastomotic stoma,smooth muscle cells largely proliferated in the medial matrix,the sodded homograft was near normal in structure.The vessel patency rates of the unsodded homgrafts was lower and lower in long time because of the arterial homograft was length than 2cm.Conclusion 1.The freezed,dried and irradiated homogenic artery were lo-wer in immunogenicity but the nature of artery were better than the free- zed or dried and irradiated homogenic artery;2.The vessel patency rates of the freezed,dried and irradiated arterial homograft were highest in 2cm lenth,the homograft were sodded, regenerated and repaired complete-ly;3.the achievement ratio of freezed,dried and irradiated arterial homo- graft was correlated completely with the length of arterial homograft,the more length,the lower vessel patency rates.
