Objective: Anaerobic threshold(include IAT and VT ) and maximum oxygen uptake (V02MAX)are the primary variables for evaluating performance of endurance. These variables describes the ability when energy support transferring from oxidation to glycolysis , body can sill maintain submaximal intensity without fatigue. At present ,we can obtain these variables in laboratory, but a few literatures have reported different protocols had effects on results . It may estimate athletes performance mistakely. This study compare the effect of different Graded Exercise protocols on evaluating ability of cyclists, and detect validity of variables to predict time trial of 4Km.Methods: eight male cyclist performed four graded exercise tests(T25×1: 100W+25W×1min, T50×1: 100W+50W×1min , T25×3: 100W+25W×3min, T50×3: 100W + 50W×3min). Key variables are IAT (individual anaerobic threshold): lactate concentration and power(PLT), VT (ventilate threshold ) : oxygen uptake (V02) and power( PVT). Collect finger blood on every stage ending and the terminate point of the test and subsequent 2 min , 5min, 8min and 10min. Obtain IAT and PLT by Stegmman method. Ventilate data can be collected and analysed by pulmonaryanalyser. Compare different variables data coming from every protocol. Correlate every variable to time trial of 4Km to evaluate the validity of each protocol. Results: Different protocols have similar effect on IAT , PLT and VT, PVT.The results of T25×1 and T50×1 have no difference. The same as to results of T25×3 and T50×3.But T25×1 has significant difference to T25×3 and T50×3 . Time factor impact results decisively. Results coming from shorter stage protocols (1min) is higher than longer one (3min) significantly. The correlations between time trial 4Km to every variables show that T25×3: VT and PVThave better predictive than other protocols. T50×3: Plt is a good predictor to time trial 4Km.Conclusions:1. Different protocols have effects on anaerobic threshold. Time factor have important impact on results of each variables. Shorter protocol cause elevating of data. Tow factors have no cross effect to each other. 2. To the same protocol, PVT smaller than Plt, it accounts for ventilate variables is more sensitive than lctate.3. Different protocols have no effects on V02MAX, but can work on maximal power in experiments.4. Correlation analysis displays that T25×3: VT and PVT are more predictive than other protocols; T50×3: Plt is a good predictor to time trial 4Km. VO2MAX and Ppeak are normal predictor to record of 4Km.
