The wound healing is a complicated and ordered process. It includes that the inflammatory cell and reparation cell aggregate, damaged tissues are cleaned, extracellular matrix is forming, and then epithelization or scar is developed. How to prevent wounds from aggravating and infecting, relieve the pain, promote the recovery of wound, and reduce the proliferation of scar, are the key points of wound healing.Based on Chinese traditional medicine theory and our previous work, an inexpensive burn cream, named after Fufang Luhui burn cream, was exploited successfully. The preparation mainly consists of Aloe barbadensis Miller gel powder, Chinese gall and borneol. It can promote quickly the process of wound healing and give a good prognosis without scar or without significant scar. Owing to its'W/O type matrix, the burn cream can be spread easily on wound surface and has good gas permeability. Meanwhile, according to the guidance of new drug pre-clinical study of China, the laboratory researches including the preparation artwork, quality control standard and preparation stability, were developed. And through the animal model experiments, pharmacodynamic action was studied. All the research data were collected and integrated to aim to obtain the clinic study license of the new burn cream.The results indicate that the external use ointment (W/O) was prepared with good preparation stability. The main ingredients'distributions of the burn cream are Aloe barbadensis Miller gel powder: Chinese gall: borneol as 50:20:10 (g/1000g), it showed strong synergetic antibiotic activity to staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter cloacae, Citrobacter and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The quality control standard was established. The results from mice model showed that the burn cream could significantly speed up the healing process of the superficialâ…¡scald wound. In addition, for the first time an electrochemical method was used to detect some active carbohydrates containing polysaccharide and monosaccharide in natural product. The electrochemical determination method of Aloes Polysaccharide (AP) contents in Aloe barbadensis Miller gel powders was successfully established with mannose, glucose, galactose and fructose as the standards. Finally, combining HPLC, TLC and UV methods, the quality control specification draft of Fufang Luhui Burn Cream was designed with the AP and gallic acid (GA) as the key indexes.
