| Objective:To analyze the characteristics of the cases of hepatectomy for hepatolithiasis, sum up experience in the treatment.Methods:Retrospective analysis of 341 cases of hepatectomy for hepatolithiasis between January 2003 and December 2006, according to typing scheme made by "hepatolithiasis patients diagnosis and treatment guidelines"written by Chinese Medical Association Scientific Council of biliary surgery in 2007, analyze their characteristics, sum up experience in the treatment. SPSS13.0 statistical software packages is used in data collation and descriptive analysis as a statistical method.Results:1. Excellent rate of hepatectomy for hepatolithiasis is 92.9% (248/267). Left lateral segmentectomy is the most popular kind of hepatectomy ,it mades up of 83.9% (286/341)of all cases.2. There are 198 cases of Type I, 48 cases of Typeâ…¡a , 82 cases of Typeâ…¡b, 13 cases of Typeâ…¡c in all. Differences can be found in the liver resection method , excellent rate and the recurrence rate in different types of cases .3. Hilar bile duct strictures repair and cholangioenterostomy are the most common types of support method in liver resection, the former is used in the hilar bile duct benign stricture, the latter is used in Type Eb, Type Ec cases, both of them are based on hepatectomy.Conclusion:1. For all types of hepatolithiasis patients, Left lateral segmentectomy is the most common kind of liver resection.2. Hepatectomy is mostly used in Type I, Type IIb hepatolithiasis.3. The scope of application of hepatectomy in different types of Hepatolithiasis is different.4. During hepatectomy for hepatolithiasis , two cases should be attached importance to: Hilar bile duct strictures and sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, the former should add hilar bile duct repair and reconstruction, the latter should add cholangioenterostomy.
