Objective To study the effect of Shenluokang Chongji on the experimental IgA nephropathy(IgAN)rat.Methods The IgA nephropathy rat model was induced through oral administration of bovine serum albumin(BSA),subcutaneous injection of carbon tetrachloride and intravenous injection of lipopolysaccharide.Then divided models into model control group,benazepril group,Shenluokang Chongji group,as well as normal control group.Rats were sacrificed at 14th week to detect urine erythrocyte,24 hours urine protein excretion(UPE) and urineβ-N-Acetyl glucosaminidase(NAG),serum creatinine(Scr)and blood urine nitrogen(BUN).The renal tissues were studied by light microscopy and immunofluorescent examination,Immunohistochemistry was used to investigate the expression of transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1).Result Compared with model control and benazepril groups, Shenluokang Chongji group can markedly reduce the content of urine erythrocyte,NAG,Scr and BUN(P<0.05),the expression of TGF-β1 decreased evidently in the tubuleinterstitium,two treatment groups' 24 hours urine protein excretion(UPE)were decreased significantly(P<0.01),but the difference between two treatment groups wasn't significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Shenluokang Chongji can reduce the deposition of IgA in glomerulus and the expression of TGF-β1 in kidney,inhibit more profound mesangial proliferation and mesangial expansion;ameliorate renal function;stayed progression of renal interstitial fibrosis(RIF)and renal failure.
