The Expression Of MMP-2, MMP-9, TIMP-1 In Linchen Planus

Objiect: To study the expression and distribution of MMP-2,MMP-9,TIMP-1 in lichen planus.Analysis the relationship between the expression of them in lichen planus.Methods:Immunohistochemical technique were employed to study the expression of MMP-2,MMP-9,TIMP-1 in 30 lichen planus and 30 normal skin.TIMP-1 mRNA were observed by RT-PCR in 10 lichen planus and 8 mormal skin specimens.Results: The positive expression of MMP-2,MMP-9,TIMP-1 shows yellow or brown granules in the cytoplasm,the IOD (integrated optical density) values to the strength of the positive expression.Compared with the normal control group,the IOD of MMP-2 and MMP-9 were (12.980±2.200)×10~3 and (25.308±1.644)×10~3 which were upregulated in lichen planus specimens (P<0.05); the IOD of TIMP-1 was (17.134±3.025)×10~3,similar to nomal skin specimens (P>0.05);TIMP-1 mRNA 0.563±0.093 in lichen planus cases were also similar to the nomal skin specimens (P>0.05).Conclusion:The exspression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 were up-regulated in lichen planus; the ratio of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 may disturbancd in lichen planus specimens; up-regulation of MMP-2,MMP-9 and disturbance of the ratio of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 may contribute to the formation and progression of lichen planus.
