Terun-sodolol is a kind of new Mongolian medicine made of seven ingredients, such as Hezi, Jianghuang, Huangbai and Huhuanglian etc. According to the theory of the Mongolian medicine, it could antipyetic, hot and dry, diminish inflammation, detumescence, regulate the immune-ability and has some other functions. To study the anti-inflammatory and immunology mechanism in pharmocology of it on the mastitis, the medicine effect of it on the antibiosis, immunity and the immunological function on the experimental mice and the toxicology were primarily studied, which provides clinical information for its usage. The Bacteriostasis circle diameter of 15 single medicine to Escherichia coli were determined by Oxford cup law, the Minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) of Terun-sodolol to Escherichia coli were examined in vitro by Two times dilution method. The antibacterial effect of Terun-sodolol on the mice infected by Escherichia coli was also observed after Mice were given different doses of Terun-sodolol. The results showed: 8 kinds of 15 single Mongolian medicines had significant inhibiting effects on Escherichia coli,Bacteriostasis circle diameter was bigger than 10mm, achieved 16mm most greatly. Terun-sodolol Compound prescription made of 7 single medicine of 15 single medicine above in vitro had the good bacteriostasis function, The MIC and the MBC of it for the colibacillus was 0.25g/ml and 0.5g/ml respectively; The infectious mouse survival rate was significantly advanced in taking orally the different dosages Terun-sodolol. The model of the mammitis of the mice induced by the colibacillus was made. Then the effect of it on the blood cells and the mammary gland pathological changes of the experimental mice were examined, the results showed the infiltration of the PMN in the infected mammary gland were increased at first and decreased then in oral taking medicine group, to engulf bacteria in time, decreasing of the bacteria damage of the infected tissue and shortening of the infection time, which showed certain effect on the protection of the gland from the colibacillus. The effect of Terun-sodolol on the function of the immunology: the function of mononuclear macrophage of the normal and model mice were studied through the carbon particle clearance test. The activity of the NK cells of the normal and model mice was studied with MTT method, the immune viscera index were examined, peripheral-blood lymphocytes and T-Cell subpopulations were also studied with the flow cytometry, and the C3bRR and the ICR were studied with the Guoshi test. The results showed: phagocytosis coefficient and the phagocytosis index of the mononuclear macrophage were significantly advanced in the common and model groups both of the high and low dosages groups(120mg/kg,240mg/kg). The index of the thymus and the spleen were advanced in the high dosage group (240mg/kg). The ratio of CD4+T/CD8+T of the control group and the CD3+T, CD4+T and the ratio of the CD4+T/CD8+T of the high dosage groups were significantly improved. The activity of the NK cells of the mice spleen was also improved significantly in the high dosage group. TheC3bRR was significantly advanced. These results suggest that Terun-sodolol could improve the non-specific and cell specific immune function. With the method of increasing dose the most tolerance volumue of the mice for the Terun-sodolol was determined as 40000mg/kg, which showed innocuity basically. The painting of the Terun-sodolol on the depilated skin of the rabbits showed no erythema and edema on skin, which indicated that no stimulate action for skin.
