Objectives: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of topical 5- aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy (5 --aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy,ALA-PDT) in the treatment of condylomata acuminatum. Methods: The clinical observation of treatment was three weeks. At the end of the first week after treatment for Evaluation, 4, 8 , 12 ,16weeks , observation recurrence rate was observated. Adverse reactions were observed at the same time. Results: In all,26 patients with condyloma acuminata were treated, completely follow-uped. In the end, one week after treatment, wart body clearance rate was 96.15% (one of which not removed, but obviously mitigated); one case of recurrence came up(at the end of the eighth week after treatment);treatment of wart bodies in urethral orifice parts clearly was better than the other sites . No patients had any system adverse reactions. Six cases had a limited adverse reactions, which were mostly such as mild irritation, erosion, pain and so on.Conclusions: The results confirm that topical ALA-PDT is a safe and effective treatment with low recurrence rate for condyloma acuminatum, especially for this condition at urethral orifice.
