Objective: To study the expression ofα4GnT mRNA and to analyze the relationship with prognosis in gastric cancer. To compare Immunizations magnetic beads combined RT-PCR detection ofα4GnT mRNA transcripts with chemiluminescence detection of serum tumor marker CA19-9 in the peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer.Methods: We separated epithelial cells from peripheral blood of 25 patients with gastric cancer by using immunizations magnetic beads and combined RT-PCR detecting the transcripts ofα4GnT,while detecting serum CA19-9 by chemiluminescence.Results: Our research showed that the positive rate ofα4GnT mRNA in gastric cancer was 60%(15/25),and the positive rate ofα4GnTmRNA in early gastric cancer and progressive gastric cancer was 17%(1/6) and 79%(15/19) respectively, the difference was significant (P<0.05). The positive rate ofα4GnT mRNA transcripts was 65%(15/23) in the peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer by using immunizations magnetic beads combined RT-PCR, and the positive rate of serum CA19-9was 30%(7/23) by using chemiluminescence detection, the difference is significant(0.01
