Malignant tumor, an obstinate illness threatening health and life, is mainly cured by the chemical treatment, although researcher has made great progress in treating it. Because present chemical medicines always cause significant secondary effects, new antitumor drugs are greatly necessary to be developed.Recent oncotherapy believes that: the tumors are the live cell mass which should have occurred apoptosis. Apoptosis is a programmatic death process in cell development. In other words, it can also be regarded as another form of cell differentiation, which significantly correlates with its apoptosis in the early embryonic development. Concerning about the existence of the factors inducing the differentiation and apoptosis in the above stage and the important function of the apoptosis in antitumor process, researcher gradually pay attention to the early-embryonic developmental factors, their inducing tumor cell apoptosis and application in antitumor treatment. This thesis mainly focuses on developing new method to stimulate or induce the apoptosis of the tumor cells. We adopted the early embryonic factors extracted from the chicken and frog embryos, which were directly applied to the Hela and HepG2 cells in vitro. Through the morphological observation and detection via flow cytometry, we analyzed the activity of the factors in the differentiation and apoptosis of the above tumor cells. It was demonstrated by the morphological observation that after the application of the extracts, the growth of the tumor cells were restricted and showed typical apoptosis phenomenon: recovery, growing rounding, exfoliation, suspension, decrease of microvilli, breakdown of the chromosomes, vacuolization of membranes and apoptotic body. The flow cytometical detection also proved that extracts from the chick embryo could induce significant apoptosis of Hela cells. Concentration of 12mg/ml induced apoptotic rate of 70%.This thesis tentatively confirmed that the early embryonic extracts could induce the apoptosis of the tumor cells, which provide theoretical foundation for further research about its mechanism.
