As a common used traditional Chinese medicine, Toddalia asiatica has been used for the treatment of traumatic injury, rheumatism, gall and so on. To reveal the material basis and take full use of this resource, a systematic phytochemical investigation was embarked, and 9 compounds were obtained. In previous papers, coumarins and alknoids obtained from this genus were reported. In searching of bioactive compounds, the chemical constituents of Toddalia asiatica were investigated. This dissertation elaborated the extraction, isolation and identification of the chemical constituents from Toddalia asiatica (Linn.)Lam.9 compounds were isolated from Toddalia asiatica by the method of column chromatography with silica, Al2O3, Sephadex LH-20 and RP-18 gel. The compounds were identified by spectral analysis (MS,1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMBC, H-HCOSY, and HSQC). Their structures were elucidated as: Murraxocin(1), Mexoticin(2), Protopine(3), 8-Hydroxy- dihydrochelerythrine(4),γ-Fagarine(5), Skimmianine(6), 5, 7, 8-Trimethoxycoumarin(7), Toddalosin(8), 6-Methylnitidine(9). Compounds 1~3 were obtained from this plant for the first time.
