Objective Our purpose was to determine whether decrease of amniotic fluid confers a significant risk of adverse perinatal outcome. Methods we conducted a retrospective review of 60 patients entering antepartum testing at the hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital Xinjiang University of medical sciences from March to September in 2007. Amniotic fluid index(AFI)5.1-8cm is decreased .the study group and control group all undertake antenatal examination including fetal heart monitor S/D ratios, ultrasonic inspection,Perinatal outcomes including delivery gestational weeks, neonate birth weight, placental calcification, delivery mode . stained amniotic fluid neonatal asphyxia and neonatal death .Result Neonate body weight in the group of amniotic fluid decrease was obviously lower than that of the control group (P<0.05) There was statistical significance between two groups at stained amniotic fluid (P<0.05),cesarean section rate were higher in study group,no difference was found in the time of termination of pregnancy and neonatal asphyxia(P>0.05),there was no neonatal death in two groups. Compared the two group of amniotic fluid decrease A1(5.1—6.5) and amniotic fluid decrease A2(6.6—8.0),no difference was found in the delivery gestational weeks, delivery mode, amniotic fluid pollution, neonatal asphyxia neonate birth weight and neonatal death .there was statistical significance between two groups at placental calcification, Conclution The decrease of amniotic fluid is a danger signal of adverse perinatal outcome, it is important for us to pay more attention to monitor the :the decrease of amniotic fluid, we should broad cesarean delivery indicate for lowering incidence of adverse perinatal outcome.
