Depression is a psychosis, which is characterized by various Manifestations of affective disorder. It affects patients'working, learning and living so that they have difficulty adapting themselves to society even induce suicidal behavior at last. With intense social competition and fast working pace, more and more people will feel tensive, exhausted and melancholy. Incidence rate of depression will show an upward tendency. Furthermore, relief of depression is related to the rehabilitation of body disease. Psychopathology of depression is not known. Treatment on depression that is based on the hypotheses has a variety of defects. Today, the research is focused on the pathogenesis of depression and the new drugs that are effective and have fewer side effects.Semen Thlaspi is the semen of Thlaspi arvense Linn, Pennycress. Semen Thlaspi was mature in May to June,It is aone of the proper common chinses traditional medicine in China.It is bitter andpungent in flavour,warm in property,can act on the rheumatoid arthritis,stomach, hepatitis,gout, threatened abortion. Semen Thlaspi has black mustard with can turn into mustard oil by enzyme, mustard oil has effect of sterilization and banting. However, little is known about the mechanism of this medicine on antidepression. This study in order to Investigations on the antidepressant active constituents of Semen Thlaspi and primar Exploration of its mechanism of action.We used classical separate- purification method for effective component or part and combined exact biologi mode to track effective component.At first,filtrate the effective part which element is less, then use some modern experimental technics and pharmacological method to study the antidressant-like mechanism of semen Thlaspi.At first,we buildantidepressint-like model to research liquid of semen Thlasp,the result show liquid of semen Thlaspi has evidence antidepression effect.Then we choice aether, ethanol, hot water to select the best impregnant,found hot water is the bestimregnant.Now use polarity separate method and water distill-ethanol deposition method to distill the liuid of semen Thlaspi,found water distill-ethanol deposition methodi is better.on this base, apply sutra method of foliage component, ordinaluse chloroform , acetic acid -aether,carbinol, ethanoldistill the filtrate of water distill- ethanol deposition,use proper depression model to track and identify the effective component, gained a simpleness composeeffective part called JDCC eventually.When we got the effective part, we applied helplessness and medication induce depression-like model to study the mechanism of antidepression.The result show JDCC has no influence on automatic action of mice, prompt it has no excitement and restrain effect.JDCC has good anti-depression effect because it can reduce the time of immobility in the mice tail suspension test and forced swimming test.JDCC can counteract the animal heat descend and eyelid droop induced by reserpine,elevated the number of the head-twitches on the 5-HTP induced head-twitches with mice.It has no significant effect on antagonism of high dose of apon orphine and yohimbine enhancement test with mice.The result shows the antidepression mechanism of distill element from semen Thlaspi has little connection with epinephrine and dopamine system,the 5—HTP nerve transfer element system is the uppermost active point.
