The Expression Of EGFR And LRIG1 In Human Trigeminal Neurinoma

Objection To detect the expression of EGFR and LRIG1 in human trigeminal neurinoma, and to explore their possible effect on the origination and development of trigeminal neurinoma, and the relationship between them.Methods 1. We collected 23 cases of trigeminal neurinoma that were confirmed by clinical diagnosis and pathology, and selected 4 cases of normal brain tissue and 5 cases of glioma.2. Use immunohistochemistry(SABC method) to detect the expression of EGFR and LRIG1 in the specimen of trigeminal neurinoma, normal brain tissue and glioma.3. The data was analyzed by using statistical analysis software SPSS10.0.Results 1. The expression of EGFR was mainly distributed to the cell plasma and the cell membrane. The expression positive (weak, +) rate in the experimental group was 21.74 % (5/23), while the expression of EGFR was not detectable in 4 cases of normal brain tissues in the control group. Strongly positive expression was detected in 5 cases of glioma tissues.2. The expression of LRIG1 was mainly distributed to the cell plasma and the cell membrane. The expression positive rate in the experimental group was 78.26 % (18/23), including 6 cases of"+", 10 cases of"++", and 2 cases of"+++". Strongly positive expression was detected in 4 cases of normal brain tissues in the control group. No expression of LRIG1 was detected in 5 cases of glioma tissues.3. Kappa agreement teat indicated that there is a negative reciprocity between the expression of EGFR and that of LRIG1 (P<0.05).Conclusion LRIG1 protein may inhibit the malignant differentiation and proliferation of the trigeminal neurinoma possibly by the negative feedback loop of EGFR.
